Bread That Satisfies
“Then Jesus declared, 'I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.'”
— John 6:35 (NIV)
Jesus uses simple words people understand — bread and thirst. He is not talking about food alone. He says He is the bread of life. Coming to Him feeds the soul. Believing in Him satisfies deep hunger nothing else can fill.
You may feel empty even when life looks full. You scroll, eat, work, and still want more. Jesus offers Himself as bread for the soul. Coming to Him is not a one-time event. It is daily turning to the One who truly satisfies.
Come Before You Scroll
- 1Before your first screen time today, read John 6:35 slowly once.
- 2Say: 'Jesus, I come to You first. Feed what is hungry in me.'
Jesus, I chase many things to feel full. You are the bread of life. I come to You today with my hunger.
What are you using to fill a hunger only Jesus can satisfy?
What does 'bread of life' mean?
Jesus is saying He sustains and satisfies the deepest needs of the soul, not just physical hunger.
How do we 'come to' Jesus?
Through prayer, trust, Scripture, and receiving Him in faith — turning to Him before other substitutes.
Why read this before Corpus Christi?
