Made for Good Works
“For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
— Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
Paul wrote to Ephesians who wondered if they mattered after years of ordinary life. He called them God's handiwork, created in Christ for good works God prepared ahead. A potter shapes clay for specific use. Your Monday tasks are not random noise. God wove purpose into real hours before you opened your eyes.
Monday 8 a.m. Your inbox is loud: meetings, forms, someone needing you. You wonder again if any of it counts. Open the first task slowly. One item on today's list may be the good work God prepared before this week began. You fit here.
One Prepared Step
- 1List three tasks on your plate today. Circle one that could serve someone beyond yourself.
- 2Do that task first. Then tell one person what you did and ask how you can help them today.
Lord, my inbox shouts that I am behind. Show me one prepared good work in the noise of this Monday morning.
Which task today might be a good work God already prepared for you?
Do good works save us?
No. We are saved by grace; good works are the path we walk in response.
What if my job feels ordinary?
Prepared good works include hidden kindness, integrity, and care, not only visible roles.
How do I find today's work?
Look for one task that serves another person with love and honesty.
