Nothing Can Separate
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
— Romans 8:38-39 (NIV)
Paul wrote this from a city where Christians faced real danger. He lists death, powers, future, everything. None can cut you off from God's love in Christ. Maximilian Kolbe in Auschwitz volunteered to die in place of a stranger with a family. He showed that even there, love in Christ held.
Sunday evening. The week ahead feels heavy already. News, bills, a tense talk you keep replaying. Paul named real threats. God's love in Christ still reaches you tonight.
Speak the Bond
- 1Text or tell one trusted person: 'I'm grateful for you.'
- 2Ask that person to pray with you once about the fear weighing on you this week.
Father, I keep replaying that tense talk in my head. Your love in Christ held Kolbe in Auschwitz. Hold me through this week too.
What fear tries to convince you that God's love might not reach you today?
Does this mean life will be easy?
No. Real threats are named. The promise is that none of them can sever God's love in Christ.
What if I do not feel loved?
Feelings shift. The bond in Christ is declared true whether your mood agrees or not.
How is this practical on Sunday?
It lets you rest your soul before the week, held, not abandoned.
