You Are Mine

Anchor
But now, this is what the Lord says, he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.'

Isaiah 43:1 (NIV)

What it means

God spoke these words to Jacob after years of running. Jacob had lied to his father and fled from Esau. Later God changed his name to Israel. Even then, God said: I created you, I redeemed you, I called you by name. You belong to Me. That was true before Jacob fixed anything.

In your life

Your phone buzzes before you get out of bed. A message stings. You want to defend yourself or shut down. God named you before anyone judged you. You can breathe once before you reply.

Today's challenge

Write Your Name

  • 1Write your first name on paper. Under it: 'I am Yours.'
  • 2Text one person you trust: 'I'm glad you're in my life.' Carry the paper one hour.
Prayer

Lord, that message on my phone already hurt. You named me before anyone judged me. Help me remember I am Yours before I reply.

Reflect

Where do you need to hear 'you are mine' before you take the next step?

Common questions
What does 'you are mine' mean practically?

It means your life is held in God's care. You belong to Him before any role, title, or failure defines you.

Does this apply when I feel afraid?

Yes. The command 'do not fear' comes with the reason: God has redeemed and named you.

How can I remember this on a busy Wednesday?

A small written reminder with your name and 'I am Yours' can help you remember this between tasks.
