Joy Is Your Strength
Anchor
“Nehemiah said, 'Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.'”
— Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV)
What it means
The people wept when they heard God's law. Nehemiah says stop grieving — celebrate. Share food with those who have little. This day is holy. The joy of the Lord — not fake cheer — is your strength.
In your life
You may carry heaviness even on a good day. Nehemiah does not deny sorrow forever. He points to holy joy as strength for today. Share something. Receive celebration. God's joy can carry what your mood cannot.
Today's challenge
Share and Celebrate
- 1Share something small today — food, time, or help — with someone who has less.
- 2Thank God: 'Your joy is my strength today.'
Prayer
Lord, Your joy is my strength. Turn my grief toward holy celebration and generous sharing today.
Reflect
Where do you need the joy of the Lord as strength instead of carrying heaviness alone?
