Fullness of Joy

Anchor
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Psalm 16:11 (NIV)

What it means

The psalm writer says God shows the path of life. Real joy is found in God's presence — not only in fun moments. 'Eternal pleasures' point to lasting good that does not fade when the party ends.

In your life

You may chase quick hits of happiness — shopping, screens, plans. They fade fast. This psalm points deeper: joy in God's presence. Even a few minutes of honest prayer can hold more life than a whole distracted day.

Today's challenge

Five Minutes in Presence

  • 1Set five minutes to sit quietly with God — no phone.
  • 2At the end, thank Him for one moment of joy you noticed, however small.
Prayer

Lord, show me the path of life. Fill me with joy in Your presence today, not only in passing pleasures.

Reflect

When did you last receive joy in God's presence rather than only in distractions?
