Refuge in Trouble
Anchor
“The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him,”
— Nahum 1:7 (NIV)
What it means
Nahum speaks in a hard season. Still he names two truths: God is good, and God is a refuge. A refuge is a safe place when storms hit. He knows those who trust Him — not as strangers, but as people He cares for.
In your life
Pressure may feel like a storm today. Deadlines, news, conflict at home. You cannot fix everything at once. You can run to God as refuge — not to escape life, but to stand in something steady while trouble swirls.
Today's challenge
Run to Refuge
- 1When stress rises today, pause for thirty seconds and say: 'Lord, You are my refuge.'
- 2Write one sentence about what 'good' might look like if God is with you in this trouble.
Prayer
Lord, trouble is loud today. You are good and You are my refuge. Care for me as I trust in You.
Reflect
What would it look like to treat God as your refuge before you treat worry as your home?
