Seek First
“Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
— Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
Jesus does not deny material needs; He reorders priorities. To seek first the kingdom means placing God's reign, values, and righteousness above anxiety-driven pursuit. Provision is promised in the context of surrendered priorities.
When life feels crowded, first things become last things. This verse calls for holy reordering. Ask not only, 'What do I need?' but 'What does God want to rule in me first today?' Peace often returns when order returns.
Reorder Your Day
- 1Start tomorrow with 10 minutes of prayer and Scripture before checking messages.
- 2Ask one question before key decisions: 'Does this align with God's kingdom first?'
King Jesus, reorder my desires. Teach me to seek Your kingdom first and trust You with what I need.
What has silently taken first place in your heart lately?
What does it mean to seek God's kingdom first?
To prioritize God's will, character, and mission above self-driven urgency and fear.
Does this verse ignore practical responsibilities?
No. It places them under God's leadership instead of making them ultimate.
How can I practice kingdom-first living daily?
Begin with God, decide with Scripture-shaped values, and trust Him with outcomes.
