Peace With God
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— Romans 5:1 (NIV)
Paul announces a finished status: justified through faith. This is courtroom language—declared righteous because of Christ, not self-merit. Peace with God is objective reconciliation before it is subjective feeling.
You may still treat God as if He is disappointed by default and waiting for better performance. This verse corrects that fear. In Christ, peace with God is established reality. You live from acceptance, not toward it.
Live From Acceptance
- 1Notice one area where you are trying to earn God's approval this week.
- 2Replace that striving with this confession: 'In Christ, I have peace with God.'
Jesus, thank You for securing my peace with God. Free me from striving and root me in grace.
Where are you still living as if God's acceptance must be earned?
What does 'justified' mean?
Declared righteous before God because of Christ's work, received by faith rather than earned by works.
Is peace with God a feeling or a fact?
First a fact grounded in the gospel, then a reality that shapes inner peace over time.
How does this change daily life?
It replaces performance anxiety with grateful obedience rooted in secure acceptance.
