You Received Adoption
“You received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry, 'Abba, Father.'”
— Romans 8:15 (NIV)
Paul contrasts slavery-fear with adoption-intimacy. Through the Spirit, believers are not outsiders earning access; they are sons and daughters welcomed into family language: 'Abba.' This is relational security, not religious performance.
Many Christians still live like employees trying to avoid being fired. This verse says you are family. You can approach God with honesty, nearness, and trust. Identity as adopted child changes how you pray, obey, and recover from failure.
Pray as Child, Not Employee
- 1Begin one prayer today with: 'Abba, Father, I come as Your child.'
- 2Name one fear and surrender it in that identity.
Abba, thank You for adopting me. Teach me to live from belonging, not from fear.
Where are you relating to God as a servant under threat instead of a child at home?
