Pray and Don't Give Up
“They should always pray and not give up.”
— Luke 18:1 (NIV)
Jesus tells this before the parable of the persistent widow to form His disciples in stubborn prayer. 'Always pray' means regular dependence, not nonstop speech. 'Not give up' reveals that delay does not mean divine absence.
When answers are slow, cynicism feels easier than faith. This verse calls you back to active trust: keep bringing the same burden to God. Persistent prayer reshapes your heart while you wait for changed circumstances.
Return Again in Prayer
- 1Choose one long-standing burden you have nearly stopped praying about.
- 2Pray for it again today with honest faith and set a reminder to pray again tomorrow.
Father, teach me persistent prayer. Keep me from quitting in the waiting and deepen my trust in Your timing.
Where have you quietly given up in prayer, and what would returning look like today?
