Courage for the Next Step

Anchor
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

What it means

Joshua receives this command while stepping into overwhelming responsibility after Moses. Courage here is not personality type; it is response to promise. The command and the reason are joined: be strong because God is with you.

In your life

You may face tasks that feel bigger than your capacity. Fear says: 'Not you.' God says: 'I am with you.' Biblical courage is not denial of weakness. It is obedience in weakness with confidence in God's nearness.

Today's challenge

Walk One Courageous Step

  • 1Name one task you have been postponing out of fear.
  • 2Take one concrete step on it today and pray before it: 'Lord, go with me.'
Prayer

God, where I feel small, remind me You are near. Give me courage to obey You in the next step.

Reflect

What would obedience look like today if you truly believed God is with you?
