My Peace, Not the World's
Anchor
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.”
— John 14:27 (NIV)
What it means
Jesus speaks this on the night before the cross. His peace is not fragile comfort; it is covenant assurance in the Father's presence. The world gives peace through control and favorable outcomes. Jesus gives peace through His presence in the middle of uncertainty.
In your life
You may chase peace through perfect planning, perfect responses, or perfect timing. Yet anxiety still leaks in. Jesus offers another source: His own peace. It does not wait for circumstances to calm down first; it calms your heart while circumstances are still moving.
Today's challenge
Choose Source Over Situation
- 1Name one area where you have been searching for peace in control.
- 2Pray: 'Jesus, give me Your peace here, not the world's version.' Repeat twice today.
Prayer
Jesus, I receive Your peace today. Guard my heart from panic and anchor me in Your presence.
Reflect
Where are you still expecting peace from outcomes instead of from Jesus?
