New Means New
“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
Paul does not say Christ offers cosmetic change. He says 'new creation.' This is resurrection language. In Christ, your deepest identity is no longer defined by your past, your failures, or your labels. The old story loses final authority.
Many believers still live as if grace is only forgiveness for yesterday, not power for today. This verse pushes further: the new has already arrived. You are not waiting to become someone else one day. In Christ, you begin from newness now and walk it out step by step.
Name the New Identity
- 1Write one old label you still carry (for example: failure, rejected, too late).
- 2Replace it with one truth in Christ (for example: forgiven, chosen, made new) and speak it aloud.
Jesus, thank You that in You I am not recycled, but renewed. Teach me to live from the new life You already gave me.
Which old label keeps speaking over you, and what new word does Christ speak instead?
