Whom Shall I Fear?
Anchor
“The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?”
— Psalm 27:1 (NIV)
What it means
David asks two questions with one answer. The Lord is my light — He shows the way. My salvation — He rescues. My stronghold — He protects. If God is all that, fear must answer: whom shall I fear?
In your life
Fear names people, outcomes, and unknowns. David does not pretend danger is gone. He names who holds him. You can borrow his questions today: if God is my light and stronghold, who really rules my fear?
Today's challenge
Answer the Question
- 1Write down one fear that feels big today.
- 2Say aloud: 'The Lord is my light and stronghold. Whom shall I fear?'
Prayer
Lord, You are my light, salvation, and stronghold. Replace my fear with trust as I face this day.
Reflect
If God is your stronghold today, what fear loses its right to name you?
